Snitker provided some legislation changes to agenda posting. Rowlet congratulated S. Snitker on becoming a Certified Municipal Clerk. Smedsrud asked if a process can be looked at regarding council members getting items on the agenda with Hatlan noting that is something he plans to work on with Rowlet.

The mayor opened the public hearing on amending the code of ordinances by changing the setbacks in the R-3 zoning district. Jerry Schoenthal noted that if the reasons for changing the setbacks is to not have as many zoning permit variances granted then he disagrees with the change. He also thinks that the setback of 2 foot for accessory structures in the rear yard should be changed.

The council had a lot of discussion on the 2-foot rear yard setback for accessory structures.

Moved by: Engrav | Seconded by: Smedsrud

To direct Rowlet to meet with the Planning and Zoning Commission to discuss the setback on the accessory structures in each Residential zoning district, the regulation of ADU structures and to look at the definition of accessory structures.
