Fire Department

The Waukon Pioneer Fire Department provides emergency response, fire prevention and safety training, and public education. The Department is a non-patient transport department providing Basic Life Support.

The volunteer department is equipped with two pumpers, two tankers, a quick attack truck, one heavy rescue unit (one rescue utv) and two brush trucks to service the community's needs.

The fire department began in 1894 and has 35 active volunteer firemen. The department hosts an annual pancake breakfast with donations going towards funding truck equipment and personal protective gear.
